Russian tennis players Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider were awarded medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, first class. The corresponding decree was signed on September 17 by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The athletes will receive awards for their services to the development of physical culture and sports and many years of diligent work, the document says.
