Politico has learned of Britain's intention to use Charles III's influence on Trump

The British authorities want to use King Charles III to negotiate with US President Donald Trump on Ukraine. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on September 17.

"It is hoped that the pressure using royal charm will lay the foundation for Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his senior aides to make new attempts to convince Trump of the need to increase pressure in search of peace in Ukraine," the article says.

According to the newspaper, the king is "very close" to the details of the ceasefire negotiations and personally to the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky. It is specified that Charles III can help Starmer in a dialogue with Trump.

A day earlier, Trump arrived on a state visit to the UK at Stansted Airport. The American leader was accompanied by the First Lady of the United States Melania Trump.
