New production of building materials to be launched in Transbaikalia

A new production facility for building materials will be opened in Transbaikalia. The plant will be launched as part of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy".

The production is planned to be opened by the resident of the Trans-Baikal Region. It will be used to make metal structures and concrete products, including paving stones, curbs and paving slabs.

According to ChitaMedia news agency, with reference to the press service of the Chita branch of the Bank of Russia, investments in the project will amount to about 300 million rubles. The plant will create 25 jobs. Production is scheduled to start in 2027.

The agency adds that, with the support of development institutions, it was possible to obtain financing for an enterprise that will manufacture metal products for railway contact networks and outdoor lighting. Despite the decline in demand in the construction industry, the region attracts large federal developers. This is due to preferential mortgage programs and preferential business conditions.

Earlier, on September 15, it was reported that 1.1 billion rubles were allocated to support entrepreneurs in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Since the beginning of 2025, 259 small and medium-sized businesses have received money. Most of the funds — 954 million rubles — were invested in priority sectors.: tourism, manufacturing, logistics, and agriculture. The amount of support in municipalities amounted to 520 million rubles. 312 jobs have been created, 249 of them in priority sectors and 152 more in municipalities.
