ATOR explained the massive queues in Moscow for a visa to Japan
The mass receipt of visas by Russians to Japan is associated with the beginning and end of the tourist season in the country — in the spring and autumn period. This was announced on September 17 by Artur Muradyan, Vice President of the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) for International Tourism.
"Russian tourists receive Japanese visas en masse. This usually happens twice a year. In spring, it is at the cherry blossom stage, anticipating the beginning of the active tourist season. And the second time, in the fall, is the end of the tourist season in Japan. Hence the current hype," he said in an interview with RT.
Muradyan clarified that over the past few years, Japan has been demonstrating loyalty towards visa rules for tourists, which significantly increases the tourist flow and interest of Russians in this direction.
In February, OneTwoTrip, a travel planning service, told Izvestia about popular spring destinations. So, among the foreign destinations, experts singled out Japan, where you can participate in the Japanese hanami tradition — watching cherry blossoms in the autumn period.
