The court of Nikolaevsk-on-Amur recovered 1 million rubles from the city administration in favor of a 10-year-old girl who was attacked by stray dogs. Thus, the prosecutor's office's claim was satisfied.

According to IA AmurMedia, in February 2025, the girl was attacked by a pack of dogs. The child was injured, and the treatment lasted a long time. Following the results of the inspection, the supervisory authority appealed to the court demanding compensation for moral damage. The court sided with the victim.

The TFR has opened a criminal case under the article "Negligence". Alexander Bastrykin, the head of the Investigative Committee, requested a report on the progress of the investigation from the head of the Investigative Committee for the Khabarovsk Territory and the EAO.

Earlier it was reported that teenagers under the age of 16 and people in a state of intoxication may be prohibited from walking dogs of potentially dangerous breeds on their own — such a bill was supported by the government, a source told Izvestia. An exception is made for cases when the owner releases the pet into a private fenced area. According to the authors of the initiative, cases of attacks by large dogs on passers-by due to the owners' oversight have become more frequent in Russia.
