- A military expert said there were no changes at the front for the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to US supplies.
The supply of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $500 million from the United States, funded by NATO allies, will not change the current situation on the front. This was stated to Izvestia on September 17 by former special forces officer, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk.
"These supplies were agreed upon when the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, traveled to the States. Yes, indeed, they are paid for by the European Union and NATO allies, but $ 500 million is a meager amount, it is necessary to maintain the survivability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the source said.
Matviychuk said that as part of this assistance, supplies of anti-aircraft missiles for Patriot systems, 155 mm ammunition for howitzers and electronic warfare equipment are expected.
In addition, the military expert added that Russia may consider retaliatory measures to the actions of the West, which only exacerbate the conflict.
On September 16, Reuters reported that the Pentagon had approved two shipments of military aid to Ukraine worth $500 million at the expense of NATO allies.
On August 26, US President Donald Trump announced the termination of Washington's financing of Kiev. He clarified that the United States intends to increase arms supplies to Washington's NATO allies, who are currently providing military assistance to Ukraine.
