Ryabkov pointed to the absence of an invitation to the Zapad exercises in Russia from the representatives of the United States.

Russia did not invite American representatives to observe the Russian-Belarusian military exercises Zapad-2025 on its territory. This was announced on September 17 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, answering a question from journalists.

"No, [American representatives] were not invited," Interfax quoted him as saying.

According to him, these exercises are held jointly with Belarus, so the issue of the invitation was worked out through the Belarusian allies.

Zapad-2025 exercises are held from September 12 to September 16. Poland has closed its border with Belarus because of them. On September 15, the Belarusian Defense Ministry announced that the US military had attended the Zapad-2025 exercises. In addition, representatives of 23 states, including three from NATO countries, also took part in the exercises.: USA, Turkey and Hungary.

Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the exercises were useful not only from a professional point of view, but also to strengthen trust between the countries. According to the Russian leader, the exercises allowed participants to get acquainted with the experience of using the armed forces in modern conflicts and learn how to build their work in the army based on this experience.
