A lot of work is underway in Russia to improve flight safety. This was announced on September 17 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Dmitry Yadrov.
"Over the next six years, the intensity of flights within the country is expected to increase 1.5 times. This is a serious task that needs to be completed. Moreover, it is necessary to improve flight safety, and a lot of work is being done for this," Mishustin said.
In addition, he noted that the government plans to put 75 airports across the country in order by 2030, as well as build new air terminals.
Earlier, on September 5, Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin announced that the agency plans to open other airports closed in 2022 after the resumption of Gelendzhik Airport operations.
