Gunmen killed 22 people in western Niger
In the Tillaberi region of western Niger, armed men killed 22 local residents. This was reported on September 17 by the AFP news agency, citing local sources.
"22 villagers were killed on Monday in Niger during attacks by armed men on motorcycles in the Tillaberi region," the agency reported.
According to sources, the attack began in the village of Takubatt, where the attackers opened fire during a religious ceremony, killing 15 people. After that, they killed seven more people in the vicinity of the settlement.
Earlier, on August 16, 20 people were killed in an attack by armed militants in Niger. It was clarified that the incident occurred near the city of Komabangu in the west of the country.
