The fire in the area of the fuel depots of the nuclear power plant has been completely eliminated

The fire that arose during the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of the fuel depots of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has been completely extinguished. This was reported to Izvestia on September 17 by the station's press service.

They clarified that the fire was not allowed to spread to the tanks.

The day before, Evgenia Yashina, Director of Communications at the ZAES, said that the station's fuel depots had not been damaged by artillery fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the resulting fire.

On September 16, the ZAES press service reported an artillery attack by Ukrainian militants in the area of the facility's fuel depots. As a result, vegetation caught fire. It was noted that the distance from the fire source to the diesel fuel tanks was about 400 m.
