Reuters reported on the US-UK investment agreement
The United States and Great Britain have reached an agreement on technology investments, which will involve $42 billion in funds from leading American companies. This was reported on September 17 by the Reuters news agency.
"The United Kingdom and the United States have signed a technology agreement aimed at strengthening ties in the fields of artificial intelligence, quantum computing and civil nuclear energy. Leading American companies, led by Microsoft, promise to invest £31 billion ($42 billion) in the UK," the publication says.
It is noted that the agreement was announced during the second state visit of US President Donald Trump to the UK.
According to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, the agreement will contribute to economic growth and security for both countries, and will also be able to "influence the future of millions of people." At the same time, the United States, as Britain's largest trading partner, has previously invested billions in its projects in the country.
A day earlier, Trump arrived on a state visit to the UK at Stansted Airport. The American leader was accompanied by the First Lady of the United States Melania Trump.
Earlier, on September 15, Trump called the upcoming trip to the UK incredible. It is noted that this will be his first visit after his second inauguration. The trip is connected with the intention of the American leader to meet informally with King Charles III.
