Qarabag beat Benfica 3-2 in the UEFA Champions League
The Azerbaijani football club (FC) Qarabag was able to win back from the score 0:2 and win the first ever victory in the UEFA Champions League. The match took place on September 16 in Lisbon and ended with a score of 3:2.
Having beaten Portuguese club Benfica 3-2 in the match of the 1st round of the general stage of the Champions League, Qarabag achieved a historic result for Azerbaijan.
FC Qarabag was able to change the course of the game thanks to midfielder Leandro Andrade, who won back the ball in the 30th minute, striker Camilo Duran, who equalized the score in the 48th minute, and midfielder Alexei Kashchuk, who scored the winning goal in the 86th minute of the match.
