Senior Sergeant Andrey Shleikov, during a combat mission, carried a wounded comrade out from under enemy fire to a safe place. The press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of the Russian Armed Forces in the area of the special military operation on Wednesday, September 17.

It is specified that the fighters conducted offensive operations on enemy positions. During the operation, Shleikov's assault group came under fire from mortars of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), as a result of which one soldier was injured and could not get out of the firing zone on his own.

Despite the ongoing strikes using drones and mortars, the senior sergeant provided first aid to the victim on the spot, and then carried him to a safe place. After handing over the wounded man to the evacuation group, Shleyov continued his combat mission.

The Defense Ministry also said that Corporal Eduard Zakirzyanov discovered an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) during the protection of positions on one of the sections of the line of contact. The soldier immediately reported on the opponents moving through the forest belt by radio, after which he joined the battle. The fighter's determination made it possible to bind the forces of the DRG and force it to get stuck in an open area.

As a result, Zakirzyanov destroyed most of the militants, and the rest were forced to retreat. The skilful and courageous actions of the serviceman led to the timely disclosure of the actions of the DRG and the disruption of the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to seize the positions of the Russian Army.

Earlier, on September 16, Lieutenant Pavel Platonov, who was carrying out combat missions as a tank platoon commander, provided support to the assault units during the liberation of one of their settlements. During the firing operation, Russian fighters suppressed three firing positions, as well as up to 15 personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On September 15, a Russian soldier with the call sign Spartan was able to capture two of them near Krasnoarmeysk after a successful unequal battle with four Ukrainian saboteurs in his favor. Then, comrades from adjacent units quickly arrived to help the fighter, who helped eliminate two saboteurs, and escort the two who decided to lay down their weapons to the rear.
