On September 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Mulino training ground, where he observed the Zapad-2025 strategic exercises.
During the visit, he inspected the battalion commander's command and staff vehicle. The President was also told about the equipment of the transport, including the UAV operator's seat, equipped with a special screen for displaying footage from the drone.
Putin was shown a tablet with software that allows him to record the tactical situation and the results of fire damage.
Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry said that the massive use of unmanned aircraft and ground-based robots was one of the features of the Zapad-2025 exercises. It was noted that in total, over 50,000 military personnel, more than 3,500 units of weapons and military equipment, including more than 100 aircraft and over 80 ships and support vessels, were involved in the joint strategic exercise.
Zapad-2025 exercises are held from September 12 to September 16. Poland has closed its border with Belarus because of them. On September 15, the Belarusian Defense Ministry announced that the US military had attended the Zapad-2025 exercises. In addition, representatives of 23 states, including three from NATO countries, also took part in the exercises.: USA, Turkey and Hungary.
