Crews of Mi-35M attack helicopters hit ground targets of a simulated enemy as part of a joint strategic exercise The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Belarus. The Russian Ministry of Defense publishes combat footage on September 16.

It is specified that the assault and tactical aviation of the coalition group of forces also attacked using bombs with a unified planning and correction module (UMPC) in order to gain fire superiority and defeat critical targets.

The airstrike also involved Su-25 attack aircraft, Su-30SM multi-role fighters, Su-35 fighters, as well as Su-34 front-line fighter-bombers. The cover was carried out by multifunctional fighters.

"Acting in the strike echelon, Su-34 fighter-bomber units hit important targets and columns of armored vehicles of the imaginary enemy. The combat use of aviation was carried out from altitudes from 600 to 1,2 thousand. m in pairs. The flights were carried out from military airfields located on the territory of Belarus," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that during the performance of the tasks, the air crews also used high-explosive fragmentation bombs and destroyed targets that identified important facilities of the imaginary enemy, including control systems, air defense systems and parking equipment. Following the completion of the tasks, the aircraft crews returned to their home airfields.

The maneuvers will take place at the training grounds of both countries, as well as in the waters of the Baltic and Barents Seas.

Earlier that day, as part of the Zapad-2025 exercises, electronic intelligence units of the Leningrad Military District Army Corps in the Kaliningrad Region worked out tasks for the use of the RB-301B Thorn-MDM mobile complex. Also, during the exercises, the military conducted a search and direction finding of enemy radio-emitting devices.

Zapad-2025 exercises are held from September 12 to September 16. Poland has closed its border with Belarus because of them. On September 15, the Belarusian Defense Ministry announced that the US military had attended the Zapad-2025 exercises. In addition, representatives of 23 states, including three from NATO countries, also took part in the exercises.: USA, Turkey and Hungary.
