The head of the workshop at the Pskov plant is awaiting trial for the death of an employee

The investigation of the criminal case on the death of an employee of an electric machine-building plant has been completed in Pskov. The person involved in the case is the head of the testing department, the regional SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia reports on its Telegram channel.

The tragedy occurred on January 14, 2025. A tester of electric machines transported the equipment alone on a hand truck, as a result of which a metal structure fell on him. The man died from his injuries.

The investigation believes that the supervisor of the workshop allowed the tester to transport the equipment alone. At the same time, these actions, as specified by the Pskov news feed, are a violation of safety regulations and labor protection requirements.

The investigation of the criminal case under Part 2 of Article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of labor protection requirements committed by a person charged with compliance with them, resulting in the death of a person by negligence") has been completed. The materials were submitted to the court for consideration on the merits.

The maximum sanction of this article provides for up to four years in prison. The minimum is up to four years of forced labor.
