A military expert assessed the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kupyansk

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are unlikely to be able to continue to hold Kupyansk. This opinion was expressed by military expert Alexei Zhivov on Tuesday, September 16.

"Judging by the incoming information from the line of contact, Kupyansk may be captured in the near future. The enemy is leaving the city. It is unlikely that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to hold it any longer, and they won't. But, in any case, you can't think ahead," he said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

According to the expert, most likely, even the transfer of additional forces and funds, which are in short supply, will not help Ukraine to keep the settlement under control.

"The urban development is already ours. In addition, the enemy does not have very many available reserves. So, it is quite possible that there is nothing left to transfer to Kupyansk," Zhivov noted.
