- The State Duma approved an increase in the fine for violating the rules of transportation of children
On September 16, the State Duma at its plenary session adopted in the first reading a bill proposing to increase the amount of the fine for violating the rules for transporting people in cars. The document is posted in the database of the lower house of Parliament.
The bill proposes to increase the administrative fine for a driver from 3 thousand to 5 thousand rubles, for officials — from 25 thousand to 50 thousand rubles, and for legal entities — from 100 thousand to 200 thousand rubles.
The explanatory note notes that the introduction of these amendments to the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation will reduce the number of accidents involving child passengers.
On September 12, Izvestia reported that since the beginning of the year, Russians have purchased 120,000 child restraint surrogates worth 56 million rubles. Rosstandart has already imposed fines on sellers of such restraints, including the so-called triangles for seat belts.
Earlier, on September 11, the State Traffic Inspectorate reported that in the first ten days of September, 548 accidents involving minors under the age of 16 occurred in Russia, in which 10 children were killed and 609 injured.
