In Moscow, from September 17 to 18, divisions of the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) will conduct a raid aimed at improving the road safety of taxi transport and short-term rental vehicles. The traffic police press service reported this on September 16 in the Telegram channel.

As part of the operation, traffic police officers will strengthen control over compliance with traffic regulations for taxi and carsharing drivers.

"During the event, a survey of service areas will be conducted for organized parking spaces for passenger taxis," the department said.

Traffic inspectors will pay special attention to the territories adjacent to transport hubs, shopping and entertainment centers, metro stations, hotel complexes, as well as railway stations and bus stations. In addition, an inspection will be carried out for violations in the field of Russian migration legislation, the traffic police noted.

Earlier that day, it was reported that monitoring the availability of valid CTP policies through video cameras in Russia will begin in large cities, federal and major regional highways. According to Evgeny Ufimtsev, president of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), the authorities are currently improving the legislative framework in preparation for the inspections.
