Ford will leave the brand's head office in Dearborn, Michigan, which it has occupied since 1956. Over the next 18 months, the 12-storey building, which is known as the Glass House, will be demolished, and from November this year, employees will move to a new headquarters. This was announced by the press service of the American automaker.

The new headquarters is located on the Ford campus in Dearborn, about a mile from the old building on the site of the former brand development center, opened in 1953.. If the area of the "Glass House" is 88 thousand square meters. m., and the office is designed for 2 thousand employees, then 4 thousand jobs are expected in the new building with an area of almost 200 thousand "squares".

The building will house six design studios, a food hall with an area of 15,000 square meters, 303 high-tech conference rooms and a large exhibition center with 10 rotating platforms and a 768-inch micro LED screen.

The company expects that the new headquarters will consume 50% less energy than the Glass House, despite its significantly larger size, and will become carbon-neutral in the future.

The day before, it was reported that Toyota introduced in Japan a new electric car, the e-Palette, a multi-purpose minibus designed for various transport tasks. The price of the novelty is 29 million yen (more than 16 million rubles in translation).
