There is a paradoxical situation in society: modern children, who have more material comfort than their "ancestors", make a claim to their parents, saying: "You owe me." On September 17, a practicing psychologist, HR director of the consulting company "Together." LLC, told Izvestia about why minors consider adults to be debtors.ABOUT" Dmitry Chernyshov.

"Today, every whim is satisfied with a couple of clicks. The accessibility of marketplaces has devalued the material world. For a child who grew up in an environment of total accessibility, the latest smartphone or headphones are the norm, not a dream that parents must provide. If this does not happen, then a claim arises to the parents: "If you do not buy, then you do not love me!" — said the specialist.

In addition, Chernyshov said that psychological factors are reflected in the phenomenon of "delayed maturation": young people remain dependent on their parents longer and take their support for granted.

It is possible to get out of the circle of mutual claims if adults realize the roots of the problem, start talking to children as equals, involve them in budget planning, give them the opportunity to work during the holidays and involve them in volunteering, he pointed out.

"Parents need to understand the feelings on which the "ideal world" of consumerism was built. Openly talk to your child as an equal about the value of work and responsibility for life in the real world. Start involving your child in joint budget planning: mandatory payments, purchases, helping them understand the cause-and-effect relationship of their decisions," the psychologist advised.

Chernyshov stressed that the main thing is to learn how to create a new image of the future together, based on respect and mutual contribution to the relationship.

On July 20, Victoria Boeva, founder of the Discovery network of bilingual kindergartens and schools, told Izvestia about the age at which to give minors phones and how to set rules for their use. According to her, this should be done no earlier than two or three years, while watching cartoons should be limited to 15 minutes per day. It is also important to set filters and explain which sites are best avoided.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
