Russia would be glad to see Armenian performers participating in the international Intervision song contest, and Armenian friends are always welcome in Moscow. This was announced on September 16 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"Armenian friends knew perfectly well that the contest was being held, and the question of why there was no representative of Armenian culture among the participants is not for us. We would be glad to see everyone, including, of course, our Armenian friends," the minister said at a press conference dedicated to the preparation for the competition.
