The expert predicted the ruble exchange rate this week

Starting from September 15, quotes will move to the formation of the September corridor in the range of 80-86 rubles per dollar, 94-100,50 rubles per euro and 11.20-12.05 rubles per yuan, according to Spartak Sobolev, head of the Alfa-Forex Investment Strategy Research department. He told Izvestia about this on September 16.

On September 16, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation set the exchange rate of the American currency at 83 rubles, the European currency at 97.4 rubles, and the Chinese currency at 11.5 rubles. At the same time, according to the Moscow Exchange, on September 1, the yuan is trading at 11.5 rubles.

Rate up: the dollar rose above 85 rubles for the first time since April

This is happening against the background of the risks of new anti-Russian sanctions and a possible reduction in the key interest rate.

"The Russian currency continues to recover losses from last week's lows after the Central Bank of Russia's (CBR) rate decision. In the coming week, increased volatility may persist against the background of uncertainty of external factors," Sobolev summed up.

On September 9, Maxim Chirkov, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Policy and Economic Measurements at GUU, said that the current strengthening of the dollar is short-term speculative and does not reflect fundamental economic conditions. The expert also noted that the Russian ruble is fundamentally undervalued.
