Employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in Novosibirsk detained a woman who, on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services, staged a diversion on a section of the Trans-Siberian Railway in the Trans-Baikal Territory for a reward of $8,000. A video of the detainee's interrogation on September 16 was distributed by the department's Public Relations Center.

It is noted that in August 2025, a woman created an improvised explosive device, planted it on the railway tracks and activated the device. After that, she recorded the sabotage on a mobile phone camera and sent the recording as a report to the supervisor.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 1 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Sabotage"), and the suspect is now in custody.

On September 12, the Sevastopol City Court sentenced a Crimean resident to 17 years in prison for participating in the preparation of a terrorist attack and making an improvised explosive device (IED) on behalf of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
