"The first and obvious thing is cleaning. This rule is especially applicable to jewelry on the hands — rings and bracelets. Metals can behave unpredictably when they come into contact with household chemicals. Ideally, remove all chains and long earrings to avoid the risk of catching on anything during cleaning," he said.

The next item is cooking. Here we are talking only about products that are worn on the hands. There are chances to scratch jewelry with a knife, not notice pieces of food that can get stuck under the stone, and silver can heat up and burn.
