- Nizhny Novgorod schoolchildren won the final of the "Acceleration of Space" project
Nizhny Novgorod schoolchildren won the final of the popular science reality show "Acceleration of Space". The participants went from bold ideas to the development of an unearthly scale. The unique project and the success of the teams have been watched by millions of viewers on the VK platform for several months. Schoolchildren from all over the country conducted experiments and the most complex practical research in order to create and launch a balloon into the stratosphere with their own hands. This was announced on September 16 by Izvestia correspondent Kirill Solodkov.
For several months, the participants of the show designed, soldered and programmed in order to assemble a full-fledged device for scientific experiments from scratch. Five captains competed in strength, agility and endurance.
"The joy of it taking off, the fact that it's flying, it's a part of your job, the fact that you did it and it's about to fly into space," shared Kirill Kazakov, finalist of the Overclocking Cosmos project.
"Acceleration of Space" is like the first stage of a rocket — it sets a vector and maximum acceleration for a future career. Yesterday, we were just ninth graders, and now we are young scientists, engineers, and designers. Millions of viewers are already watching this transformation on the VK platform, where reality TV series are published.
"Young people don't always choose certain high-tech areas. There is a very large shortage of engineering specialties now. And here is the "Acceleration. Cosmos" is basically about showing young people the prospect of working in high technology, but it's not trivial to show it, but through such an unusual and interesting format," says Natalia Popova, First Deputy General Director of Innopraktika.
According to the results of all the tests, two teams scored the most points at once. The dramatic superfinal was won by schoolchildren from Nizhny Novgorod.
"I thought we lost because I wasn't the first one to finish the track. And then we go out, the results are announced. I think that's it," said Konstantin Mikhonin, the winner of the project.
At the same time, the guys are united not only by their love of science. All of them are members of the all—Russian community "Movement of the First". The second season of the unique reality show promises to be even brighter and will prove once again that space is much closer than it seems.
In May, it was reported that as part of the reality project "Overclocking Space", teams of schoolchildren from different regions of the Russian Federation launched satellites they had assembled into the stratosphere. Overclocking Cosmos is one of Innopraktika's projects and is aimed at attracting young people to engineering specialties, as well as to the scientific field. In addition, there are other profiles, including "Constellation Dispersal", agro, folklore, and career. Hundreds of students and schoolchildren from 45 regions participated in them.
