The UN Commission of Inquiry into the Events in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel has recognized Tel Aviv's actions in the Gaza Strip as genocide. This was announced by the head of the commission, Navi Pillai, in an interview with Al-Jazeera TV channel.

"The State [Israel] is responsible. We are saying that Israel has committed genocide," he said.
