In the south-east of Estonia, near the border with Russia, they began to build a 40 km long anti-tank trench near the border with Russia. This was announced on September 16 by the State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of ERR.

"By the end of 2027, we should have more than 40 km of anti—tank trenches ready, as well as about 600 bunkers," said the inspector engineer of the general Staff of the defense forces.

According to the newspaper, in addition to ditches and bunkers, "dragon's teeth" and cutting wire will be installed next to the border fence. It is also planned to establish strong points in Northeastern and Southeastern Estonia.

In June, ERR reported that the Estonian Defense Forces, with the support of the State Defense Investment Center (RKIK), had begun construction of defensive structures in the southeast of the country, near the border with Russia. It was noted that these facilities will form part of the so-called Baltic Line of Defense.
