- The President of Finland was criticized in the United States for his statements about Russia.
The scandalous statement by Finnish President Alexander Stubb addressed to Russia is "beyond jokes." This was announced on September 15 by American journalist Thomas Fasey on the social network X.
"This is beyond joking. Here, the psychopathic leader of a country whose only contribution to the development of humanity can be called Nokia 3310 is trying to convince us that Russians, who have significantly influenced European civilization in almost all fields of art and science, are evil subhumans," he said.
On September 13, it was reported that a verbal conflict took place between Stubb and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the Yalta European Strategy conference in Kiev. It is clarified that the disagreement began during discussions on the provision of security guarantees for Kiev, when Stubb told the former prime minister that Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU) would be the best guarantee.
Earlier, on September 4, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on Stubb's remarks about the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and suggested that the negative reaction of the head of state was caused by the loss of sovereignty by his country. According to her, at the moment Finland can only "endure the consequences of the loss of sovereignty."
