In Nizhny Novgorod, the Institute for Demographic Development conducted a study on vaping among teenagers and young people. More than 3.3 thousand schoolchildren and students aged 14 to 25 took part in the online survey.

Director of the Institute Evgeny Zhuravlev in an interview with the agency RuNews24.ru On Monday, September 15, he noted that smoking vapes had become demonstrative.: 78% of minors admitted that their parents know or guess about their habit. According to him, a ban alone is not enough — a comprehensive approach is needed: sales control, an information campaign and affordable forms of leisure.

Zhuravlev stressed that the pilot project in the Nizhny Novgorod region would allow gathering experience and could become the basis for a federal law. He added that many young people are calm about the ban or support it.

The expert warned: this is not a "horror story, but a medical fact" — in half a century, the mass craze for vaping can lead to problems with reproductive health and a decrease in the birth rate, according to RIAMO.
