Chery, Changan and Haval production plant opened in Kazakhstan

A new multi-brand plant, Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan, has opened in Kazakhstan. The company carried out commissioning work and received the first batch of components for the production of Chery, Changan and Haval cars, the press service of Astana Motors reported in its Telegram channel on September 15.

Localization of production will make cars more accessible. Starting from September 16, the cost of the Chery, Changan and Haval models will decrease by 7-15%, depending on the model, announced Astana Motors founder Nurlan Smagulov.

According to him, as part of the agreement with the state on industrial assembly, the plant has committed itself to provide 30% of production using the small-scale method with welding and painting (CKD).

In June, Astana Motors announced that production of GWM pickups, as well as Haval Jolion and Tank 300 models, would be launched at the new plant in Kazakhstan.

On July 15, it became known that Changan would begin supplying cars to Russia from Kazakhstan, where the production of these brand cars would begin at the Astana Motors multi-brand plant. The design capacity of the enterprise is 90 thousand cars per year.
