Belarus is ready to resume work at any checkpoint if the Polish side makes a similar decision. This was announced on September 15 by Chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Belarus Vladimir Orlovsky.

"If it is the good will of our neighbors [to open border checkpoints], we are ready. We have personnel, and everything remains in place," BelTA quoted him as saying.

Orlovsky stressed that if the border closure is temporary, it will not have a significant impact on the overall cargo flow, but ordinary people who do not have time for a vacation or business trip may suffer from such restrictions. The head of the Belarusian State Customs Committee expressed hope that "checkpoints will be opened" and noted that Belarus is ready to quickly take jobs as soon as the decision of neighboring countries is made.

Orlovsky added that at the moment there is no coordinated work on the opening of the checkpoint, although the Belarusian side is always ready to resume dialogue.

"We have not given up on dialogue and are ready for it at any time in any format," he said.

According to the head of the Belarusian customs department, there have been virtually no contacts with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia in recent years, remaining only at the level of technical issues at checkpoints.

On September 12, Poland closed the border crossings operating on the borders with Belarus. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic, Marcin Kervinsky, explained that the adoption of this decision was conditioned by the Russian-Belarusian strategic exercises Zapad-2025.

On the same day, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov said that Minsk was not concerned about Warsaw's decision to close the border, since these actions were primarily directed against the Polish state itself.
