Over the past second weekend of September, 749 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 90 people were killed and 924 injured. 75 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on September 15 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

For example, in the Kaluga Region, on 787 km of the R-132 Golden Ring federal highway, a 37-year-old truck driver drove into the oncoming lane due to sudden depressurization of the left front wheel, where he collided with two passenger cars — an SUV and a crossover. Both car drivers and three crossover passengers were killed in the accident. The truck driver and the passenger of the SUV were injured. After providing medical care, they are referred for outpatient treatment.

There were 29 bus accidents on the roads of Russia, in which there were no fatalities, but 29 road users, including one child, needed medical help. 11 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

As a result of 154 accidents involving pedestrians, 15 people were killed, and 82 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured are 33 young pedestrians under the age of 16, 24 of whom were injured while crossing the roadway in unintended places. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 55 occurred at pedestrian crossings and 99 outside their area of operation.

There were also 103 accidents involving minors, in which 118 young road users were injured, including 49 passengers, 10 cyclists and 17 motor transport drivers. Three children were killed: two girls are passengers of passenger vehicles driven by their fathers, drivers, as well as a teenager on a pit bike.

For example, in the Republic of Tatarstan, on 1024 km of the Volga M-7 FAD, a 34-year-old driver (driving experience since 2012) lost control of a passenger car and ran over a power transmission pole. As a result of the accident, his one-year-old daughter was killed, who was in a child restraint in the back row of seats.

In the Chelyabinsk region, on a regional highway, a 42-year-old motorist (driving experience since 2002) drove off the road to the left in the course of traffic, followed by overturning the vehicle into a reservoir. The 13-year-old daughter of the perpetrator of the accident, who was in the front passenger seat and was strapped in, died in a car accident.

In the Moscow region, on 10 km of the Zvenigorod—Yershovo—Boriskovo regional highway, a 32-year-old passenger car driver collided with a pit bike driven by a 14-year-old schoolboy without a motorcycle helmet and driver's license. The teenager died.

The State Traffic Inspectorate called on parents to strictly monitor and prevent, rather than encourage, attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel on their own, as well as to exclude for them the possibility of access to driving cars and motor vehicles without the appropriate right.

A driver's license with an open category "M" is required to operate a moped and scooter. You can get it after studying at a driving school from the age of 16. At the same time, it is possible to travel on a moped on public roads only in a motorcycle helmet, provided that you have perfect command of the technique of driving such vehicles.

For driving a moped, scooter, motorcycle, or car without the appropriate license, a fine of 5 to 15 thousand rubles is provided, while the vehicle is delayed and placed in a specialized parking lot. In addition, the fine for transferring the right to drive a vehicle to a child is 30 thousand rubles. Their parents or legal representatives will be responsible for teenagers under the age of 16 who were driving vehicles.

"In addition, we remind you that the operation of motorcycles of the sports equipment category on public roads — outside specialized trails for motorsport classes and competitions — is strictly prohibited," Police Colonel Sergei Hrantskevich, head of the Department for road Safety Promotion and prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.

On September 12, it was reported that following the results of eight months of 2025, Moscow recorded a decrease in the number of accidents involving drivers with signs of intoxication by 30.5%.
