A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Vostok group of troops liberated the village of Olgovskoye in the Zaporizhia region. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 260 militants, two tanks, an armored combat vehicle, 10 vehicles, two electronic warfare stations and an ammunition depot. In addition, the Southern group of troops occupied more advantageous lines and positions, hit the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army in the DPR.

"The units of the Center group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. They defeated the manpower and equipment of three mechanized, two amphibious assault, jaeger brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, a defense brigade and a National Guard brigade in the areas of the settlements of Toretskoye, Artemovka, Dimitrov, Torskoye, Vladimirovka, Zolotoy Kolodez, Novoaleksandrovka and Krasnoarmeysk of the Donetsk People's Republic," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated the transport infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, storage and launch sites for long-range drones, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 149 areas. In turn, air defense systems shot down 82 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 667 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 84 151 UAVs, 628 anti-aircraft missile systems, 25 116 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1591 multiple rocket launchers, 29 590 field artillery and mortars, 41 811 units of special vehicles.
