More than 5.5 thousand residents of Lipetsk suffered from tick bites
In the Lipetsk region, 5,591 people have suffered from tick bites since the beginning of the season. Almost half of the victims, 2,544, are children. In 69% of cases, the suction of ticks occurred at homes and on household plots.
According to GOROD48, with reference to the regional Rospotrebnadzor, 16.5% of ticks removed from humans and sent for research were infected with ixodes tick—borne borreliosis, 4% with human granulocytic anaplasmosis, 0.1% with human monocytic ehrlichiosis.
The agency recalls that in the Lipetsk region, ticks are examined at the laboratories of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, as well as the regional skin and venereological dispensary and the regional clinical infectious diseases hospital.
Earlier, on September 8, it was reported that vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis was proposed in the Murmansk region. Pests began to appear in some areas. The proposal was made by Governor Andrey Chibis. According to him, information about the appearance of ticks comes from residents of the south of the Murmansk region.
