- Sobyanin spoke about the construction of the city's Sickle and Hammer railway station
Moscow City's Sickle and Hammer railway station will be built almost from scratch, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has announced. In his channel at the MAX, he emphasized that this will be a new urban space that meets the most modern comfort requirements.
The city's Sickle and Hammer railway Station will become one of the largest transport hubs, which will combine convenient and fast transfers of MCD-2, MCD-4, Rimskaya metro station, Ilyich Square, as well as ground transport, Sobyanin noted. "Thanks to this, more than 200,000 residents of the Lefortovo and Tagansky districts will have a base transport point for daily trips," the mayor stressed.
Sobyanin said that the platforms of the new station will be equipped with canopies, the underpass under the railway tracks will be reconstructed and equipped with elevators for passengers with limited mobility. In addition, the area around the station will be improved. "This way, residents of the district will have a cozy space for walking and relaxing," the mayor said.
Metal structures and engineering networks of the concourse are being installed at the construction site, and granite finishing of passenger platforms has also begun, Sobyanin informed. The contact network device is 40% complete.
Earlier, Sobyanin said that in 2025-2026, the construction and reconstruction of seven city railway stations will be completed in Moscow. In addition, in the next two years, renovation work will be completed in the building of the passenger terminal of Leningradsky Railway Station.
