On September 16, at 11:00, a press conference on the topic "BIM-model of an ancient city in Iraq: the world's first project by Russian scientists" will be held at the Izvestia Press center.

On the eve of a large-scale Russian-Iraqi comprehensive archaeological expedition to Iraq, Russian scientists will talk about how, thanks to digital domestic developments, it is possible to create a detailed map of an ancient city in southern Iraq, why the project is important for understanding the origins of human civilization and what prospects open up for science and culture thanks to domestic software.

Vasily Kuznetsov, Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Senior Researcher, Head of the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences;

Ilya Arkhipov, Deputy Director of the Institute of Classical Oriental and Antiquity, Associate Professor, Senior Researcher at the Faculty of Humanities of the National Research University Higher School of Economics;

Alexey Yankovsky-Dyakonov, Researcher at the Center for Archaeology of the Pre-Islamic East at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences;

Dmitry Kesya, Director of the Department of Geodetic Control and Digital Measurements at SEVERIN DEVELOPMENT.
