On September 15, the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Irkutsk region published footage of the aftermath of a gas explosion in an apartment of a multi-storey residential building in Angarsk.
It is noted that there was no further ignition during the explosion.
As a result of the incident, one person was killed and three others were injured. Also, 79 people, including 12 children, were evacuated from the house at the time of the incident.
The investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region reported that a criminal case had been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of a person by negligence").
A gas explosion in an apartment building occurred earlier that day. The governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, said that against the background of the incident, the ceiling between the first and second floors of the house collapsed. In addition, all doors and glazing were knocked out, and 10 apartments were damaged.
