On the night of Monday, September 15, the Northern Lights could be observed in the Leningrad region. Residents of the village of Sablino witnessed a rare atmospheric phenomenon.

As he writes 78.ru with reference to the Telegram channel "Astrophotoboloto", the weather was unsuitable for observations. However, the clouds briefly dispersed over the village, and residents could see flashes in the form of arcs and pillars of light green and purple over the Tosna River.

Earlier on June 1, Sergey Bogachev, head of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), said that a cloud of plasma ejected by the Sun during the flare reached the Earth.
