The current governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko from the United Russia party, took first place in the regional presidential election, gaining 84.21% of the vote based on the results of counting 100% of the protocols. This was confirmed on September 15 by data from the online scoreboard of the Central Election Commission (CEC).
The second place in the region was taken by LDPR candidate Andrei Lebedev, who won 6.69% of the vote, and Igor Novikov from the Fair Russia — Patriots — For Truth party took the third place with 3.02% of the vote.
According to the CEC, the final turnout will be about 60%. Drozdenko has been Governor of the Leningrad Region since 2012.
Earlier that day, the current governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, nominated by the United Russia party, won 60.79% of the votes in the regional elections after counting 100% of the protocols.
The Ministry of Digital Development also reported that more than 1.5 million voters were able to vote in the elections of governors and regional parliaments on the remote electronic voting platform — the final turnout was 90.54%.
