On September 15, US President Donald Trump threatened to impose a state of emergency due to the authorities' refusal to cooperate in the resettlement of illegal migrants.

According to him, the mayor of the District of Columbia, Muriel Bowser, along with the Democrats, said that the Metropolitan Police Department would no longer cooperate with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement on the expulsion and resettlement of dangerous illegal migrants.

"Don't worry, I'm with you and I won't let this happen. I will declare a state of emergency and, if necessary, federalize the country," the American leader wrote on the Truth Social network.

On August 21, Trump personally took to the streets of Washington with the National Guard to fight crime. The next day, the president issued a statement about the absence of murders in Washington a week after the National Guard was deployed. According to him, the crime rate has decreased by 87%. On August 25, US Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the detention of more than a thousand people in Washington, and over 100 firearms were also confiscated.
