A forest fire with an area of 80 hectares occurred in the Republic of Crimea. Firefighters of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations are working to eliminate the fire. This was announced on September 15 in the press service of the department.

It is specified that over the past night, the area of the forest fire in the village of Ordzhonikidze has grown to 80 hectares. More than 400 specialists and 91 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.

Firefighters of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescuers of the Crimean Control and Rescue Service "Crimea-Spas", employees of the forestry department, volunteers and volunteers were also involved in extinguishing the fire.

The difficult extinguishing conditions are due to the difficult terrain, as well as hot, dry and windy weather with gusts up to 20 m/s, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. All-terrain vehicles, satchel fire extinguishers are used to fight the fire, and mineralized strips are created to prevent further spread of the fire.

On September 6, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a fire broke out in dry vegetation on an area of 150 hectares in Crimea. It was clarified that dry vegetation was burning on the territory. Extinguishing was complicated due to the heat and windy weather. The operation involved 133 employees and 30 pieces of equipment, including the Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. Later it became known about the localization of the fire.
