- Russia and Belarus demonstrated high cooperation in the use of UAVs during the exercises.
Military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of Belarus demonstrated a high level of cooperation in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at the Zapad–2025 joint strategic exercises. This was announced on September 14 by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
"During the joint strategic exercise Zapad-2025, Belarusian and Russian military personnel demonstrate a high level of interaction when using UAVs," the ministry said in a Telegram message.
The ministry clarified that not only drones were involved in the exercises, but also FPV drones and quadrocopters. In addition, the military used more sophisticated UAV systems — the Supercam drone, which allows it to solve a wide range of tasks.
On the same day, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus, Major General Alexander Naumenko, noted that the Zapad-2025 exercises were defensive in nature, and also added that issues of planning and practical implementation of tasks were being worked out within its framework. Naumenko also stressed that all operations are carried out with full cooperation at all levels, "from strategic to tactical."
