Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski expressed hope for awarding the Nobel Prize to American leader Donald Trump for resolving the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported on September 13 in The Guardian newspaper.

"Sikorsky expressed the hope that Trump would receive the Nobel Peace Prize if he could achieve a "just peace" in the conflict (in Ukraine. — Ed.)," the publication says.

Sikorsky made the relevant statement on the sidelines of the annual conference in Kiev, which brought together the Ukrainian elite and international politicians.

On August 13, the White House announced the nomination of Trump by seven states for the Nobel Peace Prize. Among those who supported this initiative were Prime Ministers of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, Cambodia Hun Manet, Presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Gabon Brice Oligi Nguema, as well as the Government of Pakistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda Olivier Nduhirehe.

On September 2, Trump himself responded negatively to a journalist's question about his desire to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. He added that he wants to be treated fairly for his services as president of the United States.
