Electric vessels of regular river routes in Moscow have covered more than 1 million km.

Since the launch of the regular river routes of the electric vessel, more than 1 million km have passed along the Moskva River. This was announced on September 14 by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

He recalled that since June 2023, the river has become part of the transport system again: today there are three routes that can be used by 1.8 million residents of nearby areas. Electric vessels turned out to be in demand — they have already made more than 2.5 million trips, which exceeded expectations, writes Moscow 24.

According to the mayor, water transport saves up to 40 minutes compared to land transport, and you can pay for travel using all modern methods, including biometrics. Currently, the fleet consists of 29 vessels, some of them have been upgraded — the number of seats, battery capacity and comfort systems have been increased. Two more vessels assembled in Russia will be added by the end of the year.

Sobyanin noted that by 2030 it is planned to expand the network to seven routes, covering almost the entire water area of the Moskva River, the Moscow City News Agency reports.
