- The Interior Ministry announced the opposition's plans to create queues at the elections in Russia
Opposition forces tried to attract their supporters to polling stations in the Russian Federation in order to create artificial queues, but these actions had no result. This was announced on September 14 by Lenar Gabdurakhmanov, head of the Main Directorate for the Protection of Public Order and coordination of interaction with the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, at a briefing at the CEC information center.
"Opposition forces from abroad called on their supporters, albeit few, to come to their polling stations at 12 o'clock today in order to create queues both at the entrance and at the ballot boxes," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
According to Gabdurakhmanov, it was planned to shoot videos and post them on the Internet with messages about "the inability of the authorities and the commission to organize elections." He added that thanks to the preventive work carried out and convincing information, all appeals remained unrealized.
On the same day, the head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, announced that over 16 million people had already voted in elections at various levels in Russian regions. According to her, 1.41 million people from more than 1.7 million applicants have already cast their ballots in online voting in 24 regions of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, on September 13, it was reported that more than 1.3 million voters voted on the federal remote electronic voting platform (DEG), which is 78% of those who registered. It was noted that, despite the possible problems and challenges faced by residents of the regions, voting with the help of DEG is in great demand.
