The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation initiated 11 criminal cases during the single voting day. This was announced on September 14 by Lenar Gabdrakhmanov, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, at a briefing at the Central Election Commission (CEC).

"To date, 11 criminal cases have been initiated, nine of which are based on deliberately false reports of an act of terrorism," TASS quoted him as saying.
