Problems with updating operating systems (OS) on smartphones may be caused by incorrectly set parameters of values in the update installation package. Sergey Vakulin, an information computer security specialist, shared this opinion with Izvestia on September 14.

Earlier, information appeared on the web that after a recent update, Android smartphones worth 120 thousand rubles began to fail massively. Owners of Google Pixel 8, 9, 10 and 10 Pro smartphones have reported various problems with their devices. Among the complaints are the appearance of white noise on the screen, distortion of camera images, missing photos from the gallery, as well as failures in banking applications and Bluetooth, which makes it impossible to connect a smartwatch and headphones.

"The reason may lie in the detailed assembly of the update installation package or conflicting packages in which incorrect parameters of the firmware values are set. This causes conflicts between packages. That is, the blame falls on the developers themselves, not on the client, if all the requirements for installing the update were met," said Vakulin.

According to him, the solution to this problem may be to "flash" the device, or to expect a new update package.
