An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 was recorded in the state of Assam in northeastern India. This was announced on September 14 on the website of the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The seismic event was recorded 11 km northeast of the city of Harupati, which has a population of approximately 18.5 thousand people. It is specified that the earthquake was located at a depth of 29 km.

The earthquake was recorded at 11:11 UTC (14:11 Moscow time). There was no information about casualties or damage.

Earlier, on September 11, it was reported that a significant earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred near Ankara in the morning. It is specified that the epicenter of the seismic event was located near the city of Kalecik, which is 60 km from the capital of Turkey. Its source was at a depth of 11.46 km.
