In the Polish city of Legnica, unknown persons cut off a cross from the dome of the temple of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC). This was announced on September 13 on the official website of the church.

"In Legnica (Poland), unknown persons cut off and stole a metal cross from the main dome of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church," the article says.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Vasyl Bodnar also expressed his concern about the incident.

"I appeal to the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Poland publicly — do everything so that this and all similar crimes against Ukrainians and Ukrainians reach their logical conclusion — court verdicts in accordance with Polish law," Bodnar wrote on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

It is noted that the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland has urgently sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic.

On May 5, the FSB of the Russian Federation published archival documents about members of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) who carried out subversive activities and helped nationalist underground fighters in the USSR after the end of the Great Patriotic War.
